An Eight-Month Immersion
October – May 2021
Guides: Tracey Forest and Jonah Ruh Roberts
RE-EARTHING is an eight-month journey of connecting to our pure and beautiful humanness, re-wholing fragmented parts deep in our subconscious, becoming part of a soulful community, and falling in love with Earth, each other and the challenges and opportunities of these times.
Earth, isn’t this what you want? To arise in us, invisible?
Is it not your dream, to enter us so wholly
there’s nothing left outside us to see?
What, if not transformation
is your deepest purpose? Earth, my love,
I want it too.. Believe me,
no more of your springtimes are needed
to win me over—even one flower
is more than enough. Before I was named
I belonged to you.
~Rainer Maria Rilke
How will you live in these unprecedented days on Earth?
Will you continue to live fragmented in your own psyche– keeping it together on the surface while inside your soul and emotions are repressed and in turmoil? Will you continue to feel like you don’t fully belong in the culture OR in nature? Will you continue to feel helpless and overwhelmed by what is happening in the world without a clear direction of how to plug in and make a difference?
Or is now the time to finally resource in your wild and beautiful wholeness, to truly come back into deep relationship with Earth and become inspired to find your sacred niche in the Great Turning?
We are collectively on a precipice in which the Business as Usual paradigm of this modern society is doing irreparable damage to our own ecosystem and is accelerating in its destruction of the wild places, wild beings and wild cultures of this sacred and precious planet. The dominant culture within which we live has thousands of years of trauma embedded in its very structures such that most humans today are not even aware that they are acting and reacting from wounds rather than wholeness. Wounded people in a fragmented culture unknowingly participate in and perpetuate the hurt, fear, isolation, anger, unworthiness, dominance and repression like a cancer across the globe and into the young.
If we truly want to change the momentum and become agents of cultural regeneration, then it begins with coming home to our innate facets of human wholeness, re-membering ourselves into a deep love affair with Earth. By self-healing our wounded parts, finding our place of belonging within the greater Earth community, and beginning to mature ourselves into true adults and elders, we can actively participate in the evolution of our culture.
RE-EARTHING will meet in person for two weekends plus six Saturdays from October to May with Zoom councils in between gatherings. Each session will include teachings, council and experiential invitations out on the land and in the forest. We will be offering you many practices to deepen the work between sessions.
This program is inspired by Tracey and Jonah’s own life-long journeys of healing and re-wholing into passionate love for Earth and Mystery and our human place within it, as well as the teachings of Bill Plotkin, Joanna Macy and the poets, writers, thinkers and dreamers that collectively inspire a vision of the evolution of humanity.
Over the course of the journey, your nervous system will settle into a deep sense of belonging in yourself and within the Earth community, you will gain access to energy, creativity and passion that may have been locked away since childhood, you will feel more space, self love and joy in your body, mind and spirit, and you will feel the deep possibility of being an active part of maturing our culture into integrity, beauty, wisdom and sustainability.

This program is open to all genders and orientations, cultures and colors. And we are especially calling in men, as men have perhaps been even more repressed and shaped by the patriarchy than women!
We will begin and end with a full weekend gathering. Weekend gatherings meet 10am Saturday to 3pm Sunday. All other sessions are Saturdays 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Opening Weekend: Oct 2 – 3
Closing Weekend: May 7 – 8
With Zoom councils between sessions
Bring all of your own meals and snacks. Coffee and tea will be provided all weekend long. There is an outdoor stove and sink for your use as well as a refrigerator. Please bring easy to put together or heat foods (premade might be best) as we will not have time for extensive prep and cooking.
Because of Covid, we cannot share food, as is our usual preference.
We do have refrigerator space for your food and a basic outdoor kitchen area with a sink and stove.
Lodging for Weekend Gatherings:
Spirit Hollow has four tent cabins that have cot-style bunks, which each house up to 4 people (shared space with no electricity). These are available for the first and last meetings only, or you can bring your tent and camp on the land. We also have hot outdoor showers and outhouses for your use. Once we get into colder months, these tent cabins are no longer available. If you’re traveling from a distance, you’ll need to book an inn or Airbnb for staying in the area.
Please let us know if you plan to stay in one of the tent cabins for our first gathering.
We will be outside as much as possible. Part of Re-Earthing is really leaning into Earth in all her moods—heat, cold, rain, snow, so that we open to our sense of belonging and deep connection as creatures of Gaia. We will be embracing the elements, and not buffering ourselves from them. Thus, plan to have whatever you need to spend most of your time on the land.
When gathering in the yurt, we will require everyone to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. We will follow whatever Vermont Covid guidelines are in place at the end of September, so keep your eye on them. https://www.healthvermont.gov/covid-19/travel-quarantine
